A Faith-Based Service-Learning Internship
American Students - Croatian Students - Roma Children
Every year we team up with Croatian friends to plan and execute a camp for under-resourced Roma children. Three cultures spend a week together, having fun, learning from each other, and growing in their faith. This is an opportunity for for college students from New England, and young people from all over Croatia, to develop a heart for service and reconciliation. These young leaders will read When Helping Hurts, learn about the history of conflicts in Croatia, and receive real life experience in giving of themselves sacrificially, the way Jesus did. Most of them say it was the hardest, but the most worthy week of their lives!
There are many ways to give! Every year, about 10 Navigator students and staff work to raise $3000 each, to cover their airfare and in-country costs. Some need significant help, and a surplus in the trip account can mean a whole lot to them. You could give $1300 to cover one student’s flight, or $500 to cover all our supplies for camp. Or give specifically to pay for a Roma child to come to camp! A week of camp costs about $180. Or any amount will help! Alternatively you can give to support Mary Campbell so she can continue to give year-round attention to the planning, recruiting, video-making, student training, and more… Subscribe to give monthly gifts of $20, $50, $100 to make sure this trip can continue to happen every year!
